The Abuja Leadership Centre (ALC) on Thursday, 20th November 2025, held a Youth Leadership Clinic at the SLH 2 Lecture Hall, Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK). The event was facilitated by postgraduate participants of the PhD and Masters programmes in Public Governance, Leadership Strategic Studies and Military Studies.

With the theme “Empowering Secondary School Prefects for Effective Leadership,” the clinic brought together selected prefects from secondary schools across Kebbi State to enhance their leadership skills, strengthen decision-making, and prepare them for future responsibilities.

In his remarks, the Centre Coordinator, represented by Prof. Ahmed Tafida, stated that the initiative reflects ALC's commitment to raising leaders grounded in integrity, discipline and civic responsibility. He reminded the students that although challenges such as drug abuse, unemployment, insecurity and out-of-school children persist, they are not just victims but part of the solution.

“Use your platform as prefects wisely — practice integrity, show compassion, manage your time well, and use social media responsibly. Do not wait for tomorrow,” he urged.

Participants engaged in sessions on strategic communication, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, ethical leadership, and team management. The clinic also featured group activities and mentorship designed to expose students to real-life leadership situations.

Organisers appreciated FUBK management for supporting the outreach and pledged to sustain the programme for continuous youth engagement. Students and teachers described the clinic as impactful, timely, and transformative.

The event concluded with group photographs and presentation of certificates.
