The Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has introduced a mandatory computer literacy test for staff promotion exercise. For the debut 2024/2025 promotion year, the test was conducted on 19th November 2025 for staff on CONTISS 6–9 and CONTISS 11–14.
Staff on CONTISS 6–9 sat for the assessment at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences Lecture Theatre, while those on CONTISS 11–14 took theirs at the Leo Stan Ekeh Computer Centre.
FUBK Bulletin reports that the initiative aims to enhance digital competence and improve administrative efficiency across the institution. The test focused on basic computer skills and the use of essential digital tools.
The policy forms part of its broader push toward digital transformation and better service delivery.
